The Whittet-Higgins CNB-065 is a one-piece, mechanically self-locking clampnut cut to inch threads for retaining, locating and preloading bearings and components on threaded shafts, ball screws and linear actuators. It is secured by a tangential (X-axis) socket-head cap clamp screw that draws the nut tight against the shaft thread, holding the assembly against vibration, shock and torque without a separate locknut or lockwasher and without damaging or requiring cutting of the shaft threads.

It installs faster than a traditional locknut-and-lockwasher pair and allows infinite adjustment and preloading from a single access point. Built with a carbon steel base nut and a hardened alloy fastener, finished in black oxide with a wax coating for corrosion resistance, the CNB-065 is rated to a 300 degree F maximum operating temperature, meets and exceeds ANSI/ABMA 8.2-1999, and is manufactured in the USA and RoHS compliant.
